What PokéSurvivor actually is
PokéSurvivor is a browser Pokémon survival game in the spirit of Vampire Survivors and Survivor.io. You choose one partner, drop into an endless map and never press an attack button: your Pokémon fires the move you have equipped all by itself. Your job is movement — reading the horde, dodging telegraphed attacks and staying in the gaps.
Runs are short-form roguelite sessions. Experience from defeated enemies levels you up, and every level offers three cards: learn a new move, upgrade one you already have, or take a permanent boost for that partner. Max out a move, find the upgrade card it asks for and a golden evolution card appears, turning Ember into Fire Blast or Bubble into Surf.
Nothing in the game is sold for money. Coins come from playing, tickets come from playing, and shinies show up on their own at the usual 1 in 4096. It runs on PC and in landscape on mobile, in English and Spanish, and can be installed straight to your home screen.
One active move, one decision at a time
Because a run is built from a single Pokémon's move pool, every type chart question is really a question about your build. That is what makes the type page the most valuable reference on this site.
Everything is earned in-game
Tickets for the slot-machine gacha drop from regular Pokémon, sometimes from bosses, and always ×10 from a rift legendary. No purchases, no ads.
Four-player co-op
Online rooms hold up to four people, experience is shared, and standing next to a downed teammate brings them back.
What makes a run interesting
The survival loop is simple. What keeps it varied is how much the game layers on top of it.
966 partners across 9 regions
Every species from Kanto to Paldea is playable and each one carries its own move pool and its own permanent upgrade track.
Moves that evolve
59 of the 64 moves evolve at max level once you hold the right upgrade card, and the evolved version is a different attack, not just bigger numbers.
Enemies with jobs
Some heal the horde, some shield their allies, some summon reinforcements, some explode, and some fire slow telegraphed beams that light up the ground before they land.
18 rift arenas
Rifts open rarely. Step in and you fight a legendary in an arena built from its type, with terrain that changes how you move.
Weather that rewrites matchups
Rain buffs Water and nerfs Fire; harsh sunlight does the opposite; sand, snow and fog each favour a different cluster of types.
Wild shinies
Shinies appear at 1 in 4096 in the wild and drop from the gacha, so the collection goal never really finishes.
A gacha per region
The slot machine is split by region and fed by the tickets you earn, which slowly pulls your collection towards the partners you actually want.
Co-op, missions and leaderboards
Up to four players in a room, daily and weekly missions, 127 achievements with medals and titles, a public profile and survive-time rankings.
Your first two minutes, in order
If you have never opened the game, this is the shortest useful path from the menu to a decent run.
- 1
Pick a starter you can actually aim
Every region's starters are available, plus a couple of extra friends. Pick a partner whose type gives you an easy answer early — anything with a projectile or burst move is forgiving while you learn the horde patterns.
- 2
Learn the move switcher before you need it
You can only carry a few moves at a time. Bind the muscle memory for cycling between them now; in a bad swarm you will not have time to read the UI.
- 3
Take damage cards early, utility later
Damage and pierce resolve fights, so they are never wasted. Defensive and regeneration picks pay off once your damage is already stable.
- 4
Circle, do not retreat
Moving in wide circles strings the horde out into a line behind you. Backing straight away just pushes new enemies into your path.

Pokédex
966

Types
The type chart you know, softened for a game where you only ever have one active move. This is the full 18×18 grid plus the five weather states that rewrite it mid-run.

The Pokédex follows the main-series generations, and the gacha is split the same way, so you always know roughly which part of the collection you are working on.

Region counts exclude nothing: legendaries and starters live in their home region like everywhere else.

PokéSurvivor questions, answered
Is PokéSurvivor free to play?
Yes. It is a non-profit fan project with no ads and nothing to buy. There is an optional donation that only covers servers and domain costs and gives no in-game advantage.
Do I need to download or install anything?
No. It runs in the browser on PC, tablet and phone. You can optionally add it to your home screen so it behaves like an installed app.
How many Pokémon can I play as?
966, covering all nine regions from Kanto to Paldea. Every one of them is playable as your partner, with its own moves and its own permanent upgrades.
How do I unlock more Pokémon?
Through the slot-machine gacha, using tickets you earn by playing. Placeholder-free: regular Pokémon drop tickets occasionally, bosses sometimes, and a rift legendary always drops ×10. Tickets cannot be bought.
What is a rift?
A portal that opens very rarely on the map. Entering it puts you in a legendary arena matching one of that legendary's types. Win and you leave with tickets; lose and you are sent back to the map with nothing.
Is the type chart the same as the main games?
No — it is deliberately softened. Super effective is ×1.6 instead of ×2, resisted is ×0.6, and immunities become ×0.3 so that no single matchup can end a run. Dual types multiply and cap at ×2.4.
Can I play with friends?
Yes, up to four people in an online room. Experience is shared across the team and you can revive a downed teammate by standing next to them.
Is this an official Pokémon game?
No. It is an unofficial, non-profit fan project with no connection to Nintendo, Creatures, GAME FREAK or The Pokémon Company.
Ready to try a run?
The game is free, opens in a tab and saves your progress in the cloud if you make an account. Pick a partner and see how long you last.
